White House

Jen’s coworker’s wife works for the federal government, in the budget office.  With that she has access to the White House, and arranged for Jen, MaryBeth and I to go on a behind the scenes tour of the West Wing.  We weren’t able to take any pictures inside the White House itself, but we got a bunch in the Old Executive Building, including the basement bowling alley.  It was cool being just a step outside the Oval Office, looking at the Lincoln Desk, where Nicolas Cage found the hidden compartment in National Treasure 2.  I think…it’s been a while since I’ve seen that one, and it’s not the classic that the first one is.

  1. What a wonderful experience for you and Jennifer. You will remember this tour the rest of your life. Ron and I had a similar experience before the girls were born (one of Sam’s friends – a guard at the Whitehouse – also gave us a memorable tour.
